License Authentication System Guide

About the Tools License Authentication

These tools contain a license authentication system.
The tools can be used only when the license conditions are met.


Required Items for License Authentication

To use the tools, you must have the following (separately provided) items:

About the License Key Files

The license key files define the license conditions (license term, operating environment, etc.), and the tools can be used only when these license conditions are all met.


Preparing to Use the Tools

Tools Installation

Install the tools with the following folder structure:

  * CRIWARE

  \ * Tools

    o * ADX2

    o * Sofdec2

    o * Others

    \ * LicenseFiles

: License key files

 

You can install the tools in a different folder, but the folder structure under the common folder must be designated here so that the license files can be referenced correctly.


Checking the License Key Files

Use the following procedure to check if the license key files are set correctly.
License Key Files Location
The license key files are saved in the following folder:
- <b>\\CRIWARE\\Tools\\LicenseFiles</b>
Checking the Name of the License Key Files
The license key files are named as follows:
- <b>cri_sofdec2_tools.lic</b>
- <b>crispeee_x264.lic</b>


Precautions When Using the Tools

Operation When the License Is Expired

The license key files define the valid usage period of the tools.
If this valid usage period is exceeded, the following message is displayed and you will be unable to open the tools.
License Authentication Error ***
License authentication failed.
Look at the following file included with the tools for how to resolve this issue.
/CRIWARE/Tools/man_license_troubleshoot_e.txt
Error code: -10 LM
Error details: Licensing for this product has Expired.

Warning When the License Is Close to Expiration

A warning message is displayed when the tools are opened and there is one month or less remaining in the tools license.
When this message is displayed, check the expiration date in the relevant license key file and apply for a license extension.
License Authentication Warning ***
A license authentication warning has occurred.
Look at the following file included with the tools for how to resolve this issue.

Error Codes

This section describes the license-related error codes that can be displayed when the tools are launched.
The following table lists the most common error codes:
Common Error Codes
Error Code Description
-6 GD The license key file cannot be found.
Check the path to the license key file.
If the license key file does not exist, please update the license files.
-5 LM
No such feature exists.
A feature listed in the license key file does not match the tools features.
Check to make sure that the license key file is correct.
-21 LM
Config file doesn't support this version.
A newer version of the application than the version allowed by the license key file was executed.
Request a new license key file from the license administrator.


Updating the License

Extending the License Period

If you reach the end of the tool's valid usage period and the license expires, update the license files as soon as possible.

How to Get the License File

Please contact us at the CRI Support to get the license file.

Update of License File

After getting the updated license file, please overwrite the old license file with the new one.
