About Sofdec2

What is Sofdec2?

Sofdec2 is a high-resolution, high sound-quality video playback system that supports multiple platforms.
It brings out the full performance of each platform while providing the industry's highest level of high definition movies.
It also supports advanced features such as multilingual voices and subtitles for game titles sold in multiple regions.

Benefits of Using Sofdec2

  • High-Quality Movie Playback
High-quality movies can be played back using simple APIs.
Full-screen in-game movie playback and texture movies are also possible.
In addition, it supports multiple video codecs (Sofdec.Prime/H.264/VP9), so can choose the optimum codec according to performance and data size such as CPU load and memory usage.

  • Multistreaming Playback by Connecting with ADX2
Uses ADX2 in file reading and sound output.
This allows multiple movies to be played back simultaneously, for movies and music to be multistreamed, and for data to be read in the background while playing back a movie.

  • Supports Multilingual Voices and Subtitles
Multilingual tracks and subtitles that can be freely switched between can be recorded in one movie data.
In addition to 5.1ch audio tracks, enables separate vocal tracks to be simultaneously played back.
This reduces the total cost to develop games being sold in multiple regions.

  • Special Playback Features
Supports loop playback, sequential playback, seek playback, alpha movies, embedded cuepoints, and other special playback features.
(The H.264/VP9 codec has several functional limits. See Codec Selection for more information.)

  • Provides Simple Pro-level Encoding Operations
The optimal parameters for conditions are automatically set just by designating the platform, file size, and so on.
The easy-to-follow wizard interface can do everything from record movie data to implement encoding without any complex operations.
Includes encoding functions for the H.264/VP9 codec so that you can preview encoding results in Windows.
