Version Check Tool

Overview

This chapter explains the version check tool Wizz.
The main purpose of this tool is to check your library version, but it has other uses as well. For example, it has the following uses for Sofdec2.

  • Checking the version number of your CRI library files
  • Checking the version number of your CRI library that the application links to
  • Checking information on encoded movie files

Version Check Tool Wizz

The version check tool Wizz is included in the ADX2 SDK.
Wizz is a GUI tool for Windows.

/cri/tools/version_checker/wizz.exe

There is also the libver.exe tool for command lines in the same location. This tool is specifically for checking the version number of your library and applications. It cannot be used to check information on movie files.

Checking Library Versions

Version information is embedded in CRI Middleware library files. Using Wizz to check a library file will give you a list of version numbers.

Use it to check the version of the library that you are using.

Checking the Library the Application Is Linked To

You can check the application's executable files with Wizz.
With Wizz, you can get a list of the version numbers of all CRI libraries that are being linked to.

You can clarify which library versions you are using by attaching a list of these version numbers when contacting support. Use it also to check that you've properly updated your SDK or when replacing your library.
